Happy 2025.2!

Last year around these times, I shared why I am celebrating three new years in each Gregorian calendar year. According to the Hellurian calendar, this week marks the end of 2025.1, so it is time to reflect.
Things I learned
Keeping silent supports evil
This should be a duh for everyone, but apparently it's not. When we see something bad and we don't say something about it, we help the bad person. This is especially important when the evil side has a following.
I am proud to be on the side of the history that objected to what Israeli government did to innocent people in Gaza. But I admit, I was late. I am proud to be one of the many that stands against the eradication of freedoms and justice in Türkiye. The country ended up here because a significant majority just kept silent for decades. We should have moved mountains for Soma, for the gutting of the army, for the sects (tarikat) and for so many other things in the past 20 years.
Even small acts make a difference. Not showing your reactions even with those little acts, especially when you have the privilege, helps the evil.
Cooking is a life skill
I love cooking and I realized that when I was around 16. In the past three months, I have come to appreciate two of its powers more than I ever had: Social and health.
